As we spend more and more time at home, color plays a big role in how we feel while working, relaxing, and everything in between. Every year, Sherwin-Williams releases its Colormix Forecast, predicting the hues that we’ll be seeing in homes in the coming year. And we’re already starting to get inspiration from this year’s collection of colors.

The Rhythm of Color collection focuses on “the balance between fast and slow, quiet and expressive, and virtual and physical,” according to the company’s press release. It includes 40 colors separated into four palettes: Sanctuary, Encounter, Continuum, and Tapestry.

“We started telling a story last year about using color to help us feel grounded as we were headed into a new decade,” Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams said in a press release. “Now we are continuing that inward journey by exploring the past, examining the present and looking at what this all means for our future.”

Sanctuary explores nature-inspired hues; Encounter includes earthy tones; Continuum takes a page from modernist and minimalist decor; and Tapestry contains energetic, eye-catching hues.

There’s something for everyone, it seems, whether you want your quarantine to feel bright and cheery, or understated and laidback. 2021 feels pretty uncertain right now, but perhaps these colors can bring a bright spot into the near future.
